What is Coil To Coil No.4 Finished Grinding Line

A Coil-to-Coil No.4 Finished Grinding Line is a continuous stainless steel surface finishing line used to grind and brush stainless steel coils into a uniform No.4 satin brushed finish.

Unlike a sheet-to-sheet line, this machine processes the material in coil form. The stainless steel coil is first uncoiled, then passes through abrasive belt grinding and brushing sections. After finishing, the surface is cleaned, dried, optionally laminated with protective film, and then recoiled.

Product overview

The LEBON Coil-to-Coil No.4 Finished Grinding Line is designed for continuous surface grinding and brushing of stainless steel coils. It produces a fine, uniform and decorative No.4 satin brushed finish, widely used in decorative stainless steel, elevator panels, home appliance panels, kitchen equipment and architectural metal applications.

This production line is suitable for high-volume coil processing and is usually equipped with uncoiling, coil feeding, abrasive belt grinding, brushing, cleaning, drying, optional film laminating and recoiling systems. Compared with sheet-to-sheet processing, the coil-to-coil line provides higher production efficiency, continuous operation and more stable surface consistency for large-scale stainless steel finishing.

With adjustable grinding pressure, variable line speed, stable coil tension control and flexible abrasive belt selection, the line can meet different material thicknesses, working widths and surface finish requirements. It is an ideal solution for stainless steel service centers, decorative sheet manufacturers and metal processing factories that require efficient and reliable No.4 coil finishing production.

Key features

Working process

Uncoiling Section

The stainless steel coil is loaded onto the uncoiler and opened automatically. The uncoiling system provides continuous material feeding for stable coil-to-coil production.

Coil Feeding and Tension Control

The coil is guided into the line through the feeding system. Stable tension control keeps the material flat and prevents slipping, deviation or uneven feeding during continuous processing.

Surface Grinding Section

High-speed abrasive belts grind the stainless steel surface to remove minor scratches, oxide marks and surface defects. Grinding pressure, abrasive belt grit and line speed can be adjusted according to the required surface finish.

No.4 Brushing Section

The brushing section creates a fine, uniform and directional No.4 satin texture on the coil surface. Stable belt tracking and controlled pressure help maintain straight grain direction and consistent surface quality.

Grinding Liquid or Dust Control Section

For wet-type lines, grinding liquid or coolant is supplied to reduce heat, control dust and prevent burning marks. For dry-type lines, a dust collection system can be added to improve the working environment.

Filtration and Recycling System

For wet grinding, used grinding liquid is collected, filtered and recycled for reuse. This helps reduce waste, lower operating cost and maintain stable grinding performance during long production runs.

Cleaning and Drying Section

After grinding and brushing, the coil surface is cleaned to remove oil, dust, grinding residue and metal particles. The drying unit removes moisture and helps prevent water marks on the finished surface.

Film Laminating Section

If required, a protective film is applied to the finished No.4 surface before recoiling. This protects the surface from scratches during recoiling, transportation, cutting and further processing.

Recoiling Section

The finished stainless steel coil is recoiled automatically after surface finishing. The final coil has a uniform No.4 satin brushed surface and is ready for storage, shipment or downstream sheet processing.
