South Korean Client - Stainless Steel SUS630H

Client Overview: Our South Korean client specializes in providing outsourcing supply chain services to large companies such as Doosan, Samsung, and LG. Their focus is on precision processing of specialized materials for these industry leaders.

Project Background: The client’s primary material is stainless steel SUS630H, a highly specialized alloy with distinct processing challenges. The ultimate customer requirements were stringent, demanding surface roughness as low as 0.03, with high-end applications for LG requiring surface roughness even below 0.02.

Previous Challenges: Initially, the client could only source the material from Japan, which increased both procurement costs and lead times. Moreover, the precision requirements made it difficult for the client to meet customer expectations with locally available processing solutions.

Solution and Implementation: After the client approached us, we conducted a thorough analysis of their SUS630H material. Based on our findings, we tailored a solution that involved:

  1. Adjusting the grinding speed to suit the unique characteristics of the material.

  2. Developing specialized consumables that would optimize surface finishing and achieve the required roughness levels.

This customized solution enabled the client to meet the demanding surface roughness standards (down to 0.02 for LG’s high-end applications) without relying on imported materials from Japan.
