What is the difference between titanium alloy and stainless steel?
The difference between stainless steel and titanium is as follows：
1. Different prices Titanium is a precious metal that is more expensive; stainless steel is cheaper. There are many models of titanium alloys, different models, different prices, and also depends on the grain size.
2. Different temperature tolerance Titanium has high temperature resistance, the melting point is 1942K, which is nearly 1000K higher than that of gold and nearly 500K higher than that of steel; the maximum temperature resistance of stainless steel is 800 degrees, generally not more than 600 degrees.
Moreover, the hardness of titanium is relatively high. Generally, "titanium submarines" made of titanium alloys can dive to a depth of 4,500 meters and are not easy to be crushed; general steel submarines are easily crushed by water pressure when they exceed 300 meters.
3. Acid and alkali corrosion resistance Titanium has strong acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and it will not rust when immersed in the sea for 5 years; steel will corrode and deteriorate in seawater. The outer shell of the boat is made of titanium alloy, which cannot be corroded by sea water.
Only if the steel is selected correctly, reworked properly, and maintained properly, stainless steel will not corrode, pit, rust or wear. Stainless steel is also one of the strongest materials in construction metal materials.
